Serving Those Who Serve: CBJC’s 2022 Gala raises over $1 Million to Support Access to Justice for New Yorkers

by Michaela Fleischer April 13, 2022

Michaela Fleischer is the operations assistant at the City Bar Justice Center.

On April 6, 2022, New York’s legal community came together for the City Bar Justice Center’s 2022 Gala, Serving Those Who Serve, at the New York City Bar Association. In case you missed it, or to relive the memorable experience, click here to watch the Gala. With the help of an incredibly talented creative team, including GlosHaus and Eviziv, the evening was filled with vibrant movement, music, and art in celebration of pro bono.

The City Bar Justice Center honored Deloitte and Kramer Levin with the 2022 City Bar Justice Awards for their exemplary leadership in pro bono and community service, and in particular, for their most recent work with our Veterans Assistance Project. The program included award acceptances and remarks from special guests: Sheila S. Boston (NYC Bar Association President), Kurt M. Denk (City Bar Justice Center Executive Director), Ben Campbell (Deloitte General Counsel) and Paul Schoeman (Kramer Levin Co-Managing Partner).

A testament to the commitment of Justice Center supporters, the Gala raised over $1 million to fuel the Justice Center’s work with veterans and others served by its dozen civil justice projects that address unmet legal needs of New Yorkers facing poverty and other systemic barriers.

A special thank you to the 2022 Gala Benefit Committee (listed below) and justice advocates who made a personal donation – your contribution helps the Justice Center provide nearly 25,000 of our neighbors in need with high quality, free civil legal services each year. Thank you for serving those who serve – and if you’d like to help widen our impact, you can donate right here!
