City Bar Justice Center Adds Reginald Boddie as Staff Attorney

Reginald Boddie has been named the new staff attorney for the Volunteer Lawyer for a Day Program co-sponsored by the City Bar Justice Center of the New York City Bar Association and the Civil Court of the City of New York. A report on the program issued by the Moderate Means Committee of the New York City Bar Association lead to funding for the position.

Prior to joining the Justice Center, Mr. Boddie conducted a private law practice representing clients in various civil matters including landlord/tenant, employment, and family law matters. Mr. Boddie also worked as assistant counsel at the Center for Law and Social Justice of Medgar Evers College and staff attorney at Harlem Legal Services and The Legal Aid Society. Mr. Boddie is the Founder of United Youth Enterprises, a volunteer non-profit youth leadership organization. He has served on the board of directors for Claremont Neighborhood Centers in the Bronx and the Boys and Girls’ Clubs of Union County in New Jersey. Mr. Boddie is a graduate of Brown University and Northeastern University School of Law. Hon.

Fern Fisher, Administrative Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York, remarked, “I have known Mr. Boddie for a number of years. He is a knowledgeable and compassionate attorney and has been one of our most active volunteers. We are happy to have him on this project.”

As staff attorney for the Volunteer Lawyer For A Day Project, Mr. Boddie will provide on-site assistance in reviewing stipulations negotiated by volunteer lawyers and the adversary counsel or self-represented litigant, answer legal questions, and evaluate and give feedback on the quality of the volunteer lawyers’ services.
